Reports over the last 24 hours, and again today, suggest that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers may not have finished his summer spend.

We have heard that he may want to add a defender, perhaps Lucas Digne, to the ranks after a very disappointing campaign last season for The Reds.

But Liverpool fans will be encouraged to hear that a forward may also be on the radar.

The Daily Mail writes today:

Liverpool interested in loan deal for Barcelona kid Adama Traore

Liverpool officials are understood to have met with their Barcelona counterparts this week and if they accept a season’s loan the powerfully-built forward who has already played and scored for the Barca first team and represented Spain’s Under 19s could join Brendan Rodgers at Anfield.

Traore is only 19 but he has the sort of physique which should mean that he can handle the bump and grind of The Premier League without too many problems.

He’s yet to play for the full international Spain side but has turned out 10 times for the U19s and looks like a fine prospect.

But his lack of game time in the forward line at Barcelona – he’s played just once as he competes with the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar – could see him sent out on loan for a year.

We think that experience in The Premier League gives these sorts of players vital experience and the sort of skills that they may not get in Spain – likewise, Traore will be a better player for a year at Liverpool.

He’s already quick, skilful and strong. But the mental toughness that he can get from a season in England could be vital for his career in the same way as it has for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action.

Liverpool fans: can Traore seriously expect substantial game time at Anfield this season or will he struggle for minutes here too?
