Manchester United: Ronaldo Bid Rejected according to report

Better than Best?

No go

Manchester United have once again been heavily linked with a move for Cristiano Ronaldo over the last week or so.

But latest reports suggest that Manchester United aren’t the only club to take a serious interest.

Sky Sports says:

Real Madrid rejected a formal offer of €120m from Paris Saint-Germain for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to various reports in the Middle East.

The bid was immediately rejected according to the report and PSG were reminded that the player has a 1 Billion Euro release clause!

But, if Manchester United end up losing Angel di Maria to PSG this summer, then at least this cloud could have a silver lining.

Because the French giant would surely content themselves with one superstar signing this summer, leaving Manchester United as probably the best placed club to sign the player, should he decide that he wants a move.

Better than Best?

One the move?

We still think that a move back to Manchester United is highly unlikely for Ronaldo.

But his recent, publicly aired, spat with new Real Madrid coach Rafa Benitez has lead to speculation that all is not good in the camp right now.

Suffice to say that if Ronnie does want to move, Manchester United would be one of the only serious contenders for his signature, given their money, affiliations with Ronaldo, and Di Maria’s impending move to PSG.

How dare they listen to bids from anybody else! United are the only club allowed to buy Ronaldo if he ever leaves Madrid. This should be fairly obvious as he has a buyout clause of 1 billion euros for any club except United. By the way, if you find yourself actually believing any of this, then I suggest you put less rum and more soda in your mojito.
