Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini won’t like the way that his team was taken apart by Real Madrid.
Although it was of course only pre-season it will probably renew his desire to add further quality to his side this summer.
One of the players most oft linked with Manchester City this summer is Kevin de Brunye – it’s hardly a secret that they want him and latest reports suggest that there has been some movement on this one as The Manchester Evening News reports:
The midfielder is in England with club Wolfsburg for the Emirates Cup – his team play Villarreal on Sunday.
And his agent Patrick De Koster has reportedly travelled to the UK to follow up talks with Blues director of football Txiki Begiristain.
De Bruyne, who scored 16 goals and made 27 assists in a remarkable first full season at Wolfsburg, isn’t going to come cheap.
But the FFP regulations on transfers have been relaxed this summer and Manchester City look in no mood to quibble over a few million squid here or there.
We think that it’s highly likely that this lad will be turning out in the sky blue of Manchester City come the new season.
And, with him on one side and Raheem Sterling on the other they will provide the sternest test to Chelsea in The Premier League next season.
Let’s see him in action.
