Deal On?

Liverpool have been one of the busier clubs in the market so far this summer and, if media reports are to be believed, they aren’t finished yet.

Brendan Rodgers’s new look side appears to have real strength in depth in the midfield and up top.

In terms of further improvements, we would question the quality of the goalkeeper and the centre backs.

But it’s a left back who is one of the latest to be linked.

And the good news is that his manager has confirmed that the lad wants to leave his club.

The Daily Mail reports:

Liverpool target Lucas Digne has asked to leave PSG, says manager Laurent Blanc

‘First, it is he who very clearly asked to leave’, Blanc told L’Equipe . ‘For now, he is with us, he is very professional, he trains very well and has prepared excellently. He has shown the results in friendlies.

The 22 year old has already played 8 times for the France senior international side since his debut in 2014.

But with only 14 league appearances for Paris St.Germain last season, and 23 in total, perhaps the lad feels that he could get more game time elsewhere.

Liverpool bought Alberto Moreno last season and we still feel that, while he made mistakes, he has much to offer as a buccaneering full back who loves to get forward.

But it’s a squad game these days and Liverpool perhaps need more strength in depth there, despite the addition of the flexible Joe Gomez and the adaptability of the injured Jon Flanagan.

We think that Digne would be an excellent addition for Liverpool and perhaps help to iron out some of the defensive frailties that we saw last season.

Let’s see Digne in action.
