Deal: Liverpool agree yet another transfer

Liverpool have flown out of the blocks in this summer’s transfer market. Perhaps weary of the fact that his job is on the line after a highly disappointing season – and suspecting that Raheem Sterling is off – Brendan Rodgers has wasted little time in adding quality to his side.

Nathaniel Clyne joined earlier this week and this deal has been quickly followed by one for Barcelona’s talented youngster Bobby Adekanye. Sky reports:

Barcelona youngster Bobby Adekanye has signed for Liverpool.

And The Daily Mail announces:

Liverpool complete signing of Barcelona’s 16-year-old wonderkid Bobby Adekanye

The 16 year old wrote on his Instagram account:

“I am very happy to sign for Liverpool.”

PSV were also said to be interested in a player who spent last season there on loan but Liverpool got in first to do the deal. At 16 we shouldn’t expect too much too soon from this young forward who regularly plays on the left wing. But it’s good to see that Rodgers is trying to create a lasting legacy instead of simply dealing with the present first team matters.

In other news, there has been intense speculation that Liverpool are in for Christian Benteke and Robbie Fowler – a great person to ask about such matters – reckons that Benteke would be a super player for the club:

“It’s important we get a proven goalscorer and of the names being bandied about I’d go for Benteke. I think he’s excellent.

“I know there are other top strikers out there and probably more prolific scorers. But in terms of all-round play – strength, speed, physicality, finishing – I think Benteke could be the main man for Liverpool.”

We couldn’t agree more. Benteke would be an absolute superstar for Liverpool and, if they do manage to complete a deal, they won’t look back.

Liverpool fans: Is Benteke the perfect, gettable addition to the strike force?

Signing Bobby Adekanye is good news but the big question is: Would he be given first team chance?
Not in the next 2 years I guess!
