Confirmed: Major transfer decision this week as Manchester United close in with other suitors also keen

Force of nature

The waiting is probably the worst part of these summer transfer shenanigans. We are regularly disappointed by the outcomes but live in hope that the dream deal will come off.

And in the case of the brilliant midfielder Arda Turan, we should expect a decision this week, according to his agent Ahmet Bulut. The Guardian quotes him as saying:

“A lot of things about his transfer are being published but not everything they say is true,” he told NTVSpor. “We want to clarify that at this time there is a lot of pressure about this situation but we don’t want to make a formal statement about his destination before he signs. That being said, in the next four days Arda will decide which team he’ll play for next season.”

At 28 Turan is at the top of his game and seems to have the pick of four of the best clubs in the world, with Chelsea and Manchester United said to be amongst his serious suitors.

PSG would represent a less competitive challenge while he wouldn’t be able to play for Barcelona until their transfer ban is lifted in January.

So we are confident that Turan will be playing in the blue of Chelsea or the red of Manchester United next season. Either way, The Premier League will surely be a better place for his marauding runs, wonderful close control and spectacularly nonchalant manner.

He can play anywhere across the midfield or in the hole behind the striker. But we might expect him to pop up on the right hand side for both Manchester United and Chelsea, should he join one of the English clubs. He played on the right of midfield 26 times for Atletico last season and is perhaps most comfortable there. But one of his great qualities is his adaptability.

Let’s take look at the force of nature in action. Manchester United and Chelsea fans: would he trot straight into your first teams?
