This has to be the hottest transfer topic of the summer. And while Barcelona can’t officially sign anyone until their transfer ban is lifted in January, that doesn’t mean they won’t have a say in the destination of one of the world’s top talents.

In Spain the top clubs have elections for their new presidents and it’s an age old tactic for the candidates to promise amazing signings if they become the next head man.

Accordingly Joan Laporta, a presidential candidate for Barcelona, reckons that he can beat off the intense competition to sign one of the world’s leading players – Paul Pogba.

He is quoted as saying, on Spanish radio station Club de la Mijanit de Catalunya Radio

‘Pogba is very excited to come to Barcelona.

‘I have a very good relationship with Mino Raiola (Pogba’s agent).

‘It would be one of the best signings.

‘Everyone believes that he would fit into this team.’

He didn’t have such a good game in The Champions Final but he won’t be the only world class player who struggles to get the ball off Barcelona – the best club side in history.

We think that he would a great signing for any club in the world and if Barcelona can beat off interest from the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid then they will be almost guaranteeing their continued success for the next few years. Pogba can do anything, play anywhere in the side and could well become a Yaya Toure style of player for the Catalans.
