Barcelona are being linked with a huge amount of players considering they still have this whole window before their transfer ban is lifted.

And the player being linked today will be well known by regular viewers of La Liga.

British media outlet, The Daily Mail, covers Spanish reports that Barcelona are keen on a brilliant and highly accomplished attacking midfielder:

Barcelona have joined Premier League champions Chelsea in the race to sign Atletico Madrid star Arda Turan, according to reports in Spain.

Mundo Deportivo led with their exclusive story ‘Arda the Bomb’ which suggests the Catalan giants have lined up the Turkey captain as a summer arrival.

Even though Xavi has departed the club Barcelona aren’t exactly threadbare in the midfield. But there is a strong sense that this will be their first area of investment when the ban is lifted.

The 28 year old Turkey captain has been superb for Atletico over the last few years providing the sort of thrust from midfield which elevated them to La Liga champions a year ago.

He looks set to leave Atletico this summer but reports in England over the last few days have linked him strongly with a move to England. Even his agent reckons that he will be a Premier League player next year.

He said:

“His will is to leave and to play in the Premier League, that is the path he would like to take to continue his career.

“We are currently in talks with three teams but I cannot reveal the names of the clubs.

We think that he is good enough to improve most teams in the world. And while Barcelona could certainly use him in their squad, we think that he will end up playing in England come the autumn.

Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Barcelona fans: would Arda be a good addition?
