Was Harry Kane showing a bit of leg to Manchester United?

‘Flattering’ that’s what Harry Kane said about the potential interest from Manchester United, before going on to state again that he is happy at Spurs.

It’s an ambiguous term in modern football parlance and sometimes implies openness to a move – that the interested party shouldn’t be completely put off.

So was Harry Kane showing a bit of leg to Manchester United? An impossible to completely ignore amount of cleavage?

In the case of this smoothest of strikers of the ball, we think that he will be at Spurs next season. But this tiniest of incentives for Manchester United may yet see them pursue a deal this summer.

Kane said:

“I’ve seen there’s interest but that’s all I know,”

“It’s flattering for other clubs to maybe be interested but I’m happy at Spurs and I’m looking forward to the future.”

… and asked if he would find it difficult to say no if Manchester United declared a public interest he said:

“Tottenham are a big club and that’s the way people have got to see it. I’m at a big club now, I’m enjoying my football and I’m looking forward to next season.”

Just like Sterling at Liverpool, we feel that Kane is at a crucial juncture of his career. While he looks like a psychologically secure athlete, a big move at this stage of his career could play havoc with his head. His development looks assured if he stays in the comfort of familiar surroundings.

Let’s see the boy wonder in action. Manchester United fans: is this a deal that the club should pursue or is LvG wasting his time on Kane at this point?
