On the back of another commanding performance in The Champions League final, Barcelona are said to be attempting to tie up a deal for a player who they will bring to the club in January, according to reports.
Marca says that Barcelona have a firm target in mind and want to get the deal agreed this week.
Barcelona are hoping to announce a deal for Sevilla’s Aleix Vidal imminently. The clubs have been negotiating for several days and ‘Azulgranas’ president Josep Maria Bartomeu is keen to seal the signing before he leaves office midway through this coming week.
The 25 year old wide man is similar to Dani Alves, who could be leaving Barcelona but also came from Sevilla. They are both adaptable and able to play anywhere on the flank. Vidal too is an explosive and hard working player who can stem attacks but also cause mayhem going forward.
He’s only been at Sevilla for a year but such has been his form – he scored 6 goals in 47 games for his club last season – that Barcelona have made a quick move.
Due to the obvious ban imposed on Barcelona they will of course have to wait until January for the player to official join the club.
But the report suggest that he will actually join Barcelona for pre-seoson and train with them until he is officially allowed to play for the club from January.
Let’s see him in action. Barcelona fans: good enough to make the grade?
