There is talk of huge investment again at Manchester United this summer. But while many are talking about a big turnaround in terms of numbers, we think that it should be all about quality this year. By signing two top players we think that Manchester United would provide a compelling argument for a highly successful season. Contrary to the opinion of many we don’t believe that the defence is in urgent need of attention. The addition of a right back would suffice.
With top teams like Real Madrid and Bayern Munchen in transition, and Barcelona not as good as they were, Manchester United can steal the show with the right signings.
Gareth Bale
If Raheem Sterling is Manchester United’s second choice then Gareth Bale has to be the number one target. The talk today is that he is staying at Real Madrid but expect the pendulum of opinion and speculation to swing back and forth many more times this summer. Manchester United should dig their heels in with regards David de Gea. If Real genuinely want him then the price should be a swap deal with Bale. If they won’t accept that then Manchester United should let De Gea’s contract run down and get one more top season out of him. But with Depay, Bale and Rooney up top, Manchester United would destroy teams.
Paul Pogba
Manchester United have long been criticised for a lack of quality in midfield. In fact, they have largely addressed this with recent signings. The pool of Carrick, Herrera, Mata, Blind and Fellaini is a good foundation to build. What they need now is the icing on the cake – the superstar in their to really ignite the team. And who better than Paul Pogba? He’s a decent man to cover the defence. And, going forward, he’s like a machine. He simply squashes the opponent like wellies wading through nettles and has that same, irrepressible forward thrust as the great Yaya Toure. With him in the side, feeding the attack, Manchester United would outscore most opposition and win big trophies.
Let’s see Pogba in action. Manchester United fans: could the club do better business that to buy these two?

Sure we need a powerful defensive midfielder to support Michael Carrick as age is not on his side again. We just need a clinical forward to make our attack deadly. For the wings, we have enough back ups, Young is doing well, Depay has signed, Nani will be back from Portugal and Di Maria and Mata are also there. One more center back we’re done, that will add to Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Evans and Macnaire while the left full back will accommodate Blind, Shaw and sometimes Rojo. Right, we need one addition plus Rafael, Valecia. Goal keeping, if De Gea leaves we always have a good replacement but Valdes instead Anders Lidergard.
