If Arsenal want to seriously challenge for the title next season they need another top stopper and few Arsenal fans would have a problem if Arsene Wenger opted for Petr Cech.
Too often, in the recent past, Arsenal have been let down by ditherers between the sticks and Cech is the perfect solution. At 32 he’s still top player and, what’s more, his agent has confirmed that the player would be happy to join Arsenal.
When asked about Cech’s situation, The Daily Mail quotes Viktor Kolar as saying:
‘Arsenal, United or PSG are all top clubs. And Petr would like to join one of them – definitely.
‘Petr expects that Abramovic not Mourinho will decide about his future, based on their mutual agreement from last year.’
Cech can count himself unlucky to be in a squad with Thibaut Courtois. He played well last season but the form of Courtois at Atletico Madrid raised eyebrows across Europe.
But 32 is a great age for a keeper and Arsenal would immediately solve a long-term problem if they opted for Cech.
Let’s take another look at the master in a action. Arsenal fans: happy with David Ospina or is it time to bring a proven, world class keeper in?
