Strong

Manchester United lost at Chelsea last weekend and, with it went their very slight chance of getting back into the title race. But the fact that we are even talking in those terms tells you how far the team has come in the last 2 months.

In truth the Chelsea game was like a defence vs attack training session with Manchester United absolutely all over The Blues like a particularly worrying rash. But Chelsea contained United brilliantly and, in truth United probably lacked the cutting edge up top to make their possession and territorial advantage count.

Rather surprisingly, Falcao hasn’t stepped up to the plate when given the opportunity and he looked a bit lightweight against the snarling monster of a defender that is John Terry.

In his press conference on Friday afternoon Louis van Gaal gave mixed injury news. The suggestion was that only Blind has recovered since last week, meaning that Phil Jones, Michael Carrick and Marcos Rojo are still crocked.

With that in mind, our strongest eleven for this one reads:

United Final
Manchester United: 4-3-3 – De Gea, Shaw, McNair, Smalling, Valencia, Blind, Herrera, Fellaini, Mata, Young, Rooney.

Manchester United fans: let’s have your thoughts.
