Yes Please Arsene: Arsenal to pursue one of the world’s best young talents – report

Very Special

We have been a little like a broken record over the last two years in relation to Arsenal’s foibles.

Well, some of those age old criticisms finally seem to have been addressed. While we would still be tempted to have a punt on Petr Cech this summer, David Ospina has begun to offer the Arsenal defence the sort of confidence that a really safe pair of hands brings.

Gabriel too, looks like a really promising player. He will take more time to settle but he’s strong, quick and technically good. Can he become the beast that Arsenal needs at the back?

Franny Coquelin has also been an excellent graduate to the first eleven this season. But, up top, Arsenal still haven’t got a world class number 9 that will be required if they want to go further in Europe and at home.

Sanchez is a marvel but he’s not a number 9. Meantime, Giroud and Welbeck will impress until they play against opposition of a certain level and then, once Barcelona or Bayern are in town, you won’t hear a whisper from them.

All the more reason why Arsenal need to win the battle for Paulo Dybala. The Telegraph speculates about Arsenal and Dybala, while The Metro reports that Arsenal are to enter the bidding war for the 21 year old Argentine who looks likely to leave this summer.

Indeed, Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini, said that a transfer deal should be in place by the end of April.

“Dybala will be sold by the end of April,” Zamparini said as quoted by Italian news outlet Football Italia.

“But then there are foreign teams. Pierpaolo Triulzi (Dybala’s agent), with my blessing, is going between Paris and London getting the offers, and then we’ll evaluate them together.”

Meetings in London eh? Let’s hope that Wenger pulls his finger out and gets one of these top striker deals over the line. Because Dybala can eventually be the difference for Arsenal. He’s very much like Sergio Aguero – fast, strong and extremely quick-witted. He hits the ball so early that it often wrongfoots the opponent.

Let’s see him in action. Arsenal fans: should this be your main summer transfer?
