It’s easy for a big club steam roller in and buy accomplished stars who almost guarantee results – almost too easy. Surely the real excitement and ingenuity is in buying youngsters who you can mould into superstars.
Louis van Gaal, who is an obvious fan of young players, admitted recently that he may invest in youth at Manchester United.
So instead of buying the Bales and Higuains, wouldn’t it be more of an achievement, and more exciting if Manchester United went for some youngsters who can become part of the fabric of the club and stay for ten years? Even if their heads do get turned eventually then Manchester United can expect to make profits on their investments.
Looking around the market right now, there are three players in particular who we feel could form the backbone of the next great United team. We would much sooner have the club invest in these guys than the household names who have already peaked.
Aymeric Laporte
We don’t know what his parents fed him but he’s already an absolute beast at the age of just 20. And he also possesses almost inconceivable maturity on the field of play for one so young.
Add to this fantastic feet and you have player who can be the next Rio for Manchester United.
Memphis Depay
The director of PSV is resigned to losing the lad and we feel that Manchester United should make him their number one target. He’s got the priceless quality of pace and also has great power and guile. He was head and shoulders above anyone else on the park when Holland played Spain last month. Check out his performance.
Felipe Anderson
The 21 year old Brazilian has only recently come onto our radar after some sublime performances for Lazio in Serie A. He’s quick, technically brilliant and scores goals from midfield – a cheaper version of Paul Pogba in many ways.
Manchester United fans: would you prefer the intrigue of signing young stars this summer?
