Manchester United’s best XI vs West Ham with 4-4-2 and midfield muscle

Crunch Clash

Manchester United’s entire injury list reads ‘Michael Carrick’ at the moment. His absence is always felt but it’s still joy to see so few casualties after a season plagued by them.

Many believe that Daley Blind has been brought in to succeed Carrick anyway, so there will be very few excuses available for Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal this weekend.

Of course, West Ham have been flying and look as if they are strong enough to last the course in the push for a European place. Finally Sam Allardyce is getting the credit that he so richly deserves for doing a sensational job at the club – a job which has made West Ham solid at the back, industrious in midfield and lethal up top.

They will give a lot of late fitness tests to squad members this weekend and the results of those could play a big part in the final outcome.

It’s not going to be an easy game by any means. But with the race for top 4 more intense than ever, Manchester United simply can’t afford to drop more points at this stage of the season.

A win could really set them up for a strong finish. But defeat could see Manchester United drop out of the top four by the end of the weekend.

As ever, we want to see Manchester United play on the front foot – to take the game to West Ham from the off. The attack is the strong point of this squad and Manchester United need to take the impetus with a quick start and an early goal.

We think that RvP and Falcao have been playing well enough to both start. Away from home this might represent a gamble. But with Wayne Rooney able to do such a solid job in midfield we think that both of the top strikers should play.

So here is our XI for a really tricky must-win encounter.

I wish carrick quick recovery. Dis is my best 4-4-2 formation which gives enough space 2 dimaria 2 operate & allow rooney 2play behind d strikers. Fellaini as our strongest midfielder wil allow WMR & ADM 2operat freely
