Arsenal are now said to be very close to a deal for Brazilian centre back Gabriel Paulista, with a work permit being agreed ahead of the prospectove transfer from Villareal.
And, according to The Express, Arsenal are going to have a busy final week of the window:
ARSENAL will follow up the signing of Villarreal star Gabriel Paulista by making a move for versatile Borussia Dortmund man Kevin Grosskreutz, a target for Manchester United.
Versatile is the word. While his nominal position is right back, he has played many times as a midfielder and this is where we think that he is strongest. He’s not just a great shield for the defence but gets forward and offers genuine goal threat – he has scored 51 goals in 330 club matches for Borussia Dortmund and, before that, Rot Weiss Ahlen. He’s also got 5 caps for Germany since his debut in 2010.
At just 26 years of age the 6ft 1in utility man is surely a bargain at the mooted price of £3.7m. Let’s take a look at the lad in action.
Arsenal fans: is this the man to add dynamism and discipline to the midfield or is he just a decent understudy at right back?
