Arsenal are buoyant after beating the champions on their own patch. But we sincerely hope that Arsene Wenger isn’t getting carried away. Rather than telling everyone ‘I told you so’ he needs to cement this new found positivity by signing a couple of absolute beauties in the window.
Because, with Champions League qualification looking more difficult to achieve than ever, Arsenal need to strike while the iron is hot.
In news that will be seen as a boost by many, Winston Reid has apparently told those in charge at West Ham that he wants to move to Arsenal ASAP. The Mirror reports:

Reid has been capped 18 times for New Zealand and has excellent Premier League experience having joined West Ham over 4 years ago. But while he is big and athletic we aren’t sure that he is necessarily the answer for Arsenal. The Gunners do need to add a big brute and Reid certainly has the physique required to beef up the defence.
But we feel that the lad still has much to prove in terms of his technique at the top level. Can he handle the sort of attacks which we see at the sharp end of The Champions League?
It’s a question which the lad would obviously like to answer. At 26 he must feel that this is his chance to make a big move and who can blame him?
