Arsenal want to sign much sought after 26 year old international in January according to report

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger isn’t known for jumping into the market with great haste. He is rather more celebrated for taking his time and regularly buying players at the last minute. While some might suggest that this demonstrates a lack of decisiveness, on the part of the Frenchman, others might opine that it’s a canny strategy in order to sign players at better prices when clubs are desperate to offload.

Either way we don’t expect Arsenal’s business to be concluded until towards the end of January. But reports today suggest they are hot on the tracks of a 26-year-old Mexico defender.

Arsenal eye up swoop for Mexican centre back Hector Moreno to bolster defence

He has played 57 times for his country and has reportedly drawn interest from several other Premier League clubs including Everton and Totters.

He looks like a really wily and experienced player who knows how to stop good attackers. He also has more pace than Per Mertesacker and we believe that this is something Arsenal really need to look at in their defence. The German surely can’t last for too much longer at Arsenal.

The lad had three successful years at AZ Alkmaar in Holland between 2008 and 2011 before moving to Espanol where he has been similarly consistent.

We think that he looks like a good addition for Arsenal in January and it wouldn’t cost too much money either. Let’s take a look at the lad in action. Arsenal fans: a better option than Per?
