Don’t be fooled by Arsenal’s impressive 3-0 scoreline against Stoke at the weekend. Arsene Wenger’s side has been dispatching such teams for years before taking another beating off a big boy.

Wenger once more showed off that gleeful smile after the game, which suggested that he had once more fooled HIMSELF into thinking that progress was being made.

But we all know that Arsenal need a midfield general. Well, everyone except the boss of course.

But there is still hope for Arsene. If he swallows his pride and admits that the fans may be right, we may yet see a quality midfield addition in January. We’d love that player to be Moussa Sissoko and The Express reckons he’s desperate for a move:

Top of the Frenchman’s wishlist is Newcastle star Moussa Sissoko, who has already expressed a desire to ply his trade at the Emirates.

The Gunners are reportedly plotting a £16million bid, and Wenger is confident that he will land his man after Sissoko declared: “If Wenger calls me I’ll have a man-to-man talk with him. Arsenal have always been the club of my heart.”

Arsenal aren’t always at the front of the queue when top players want a move. But this one is on a plate for Arsenal and Wenger. If it goes wrong it’s not like spending £40m on Ozil. This is a French international who, at 25, will recoup most of his fee even if he doesn’t do the business.

But we think that this guy could do what Yaya Toure does so blindingly at City, as well as offering much more defensive cover than the side currently has.

Let’s see him in action. Arsenal fans: a top buy or would you rather the more cautious Morgan Schneiderlin?
