All the hype this week about Wojceich Szczesny having a wheez on a fag after the game against Southampton has clouded the real issue, as far as we are concerned – it’s been something of a smokescreen if you will.

Because, tabbing or not, isn’t the real issue that Szczesny simply isn’t good enough to help Arsenal to trophies on a regular basis?

It sounds pretty ruthless and he’s probably a top lad. But are we alone in thinking that he just doesn’t have the quality for this level?

David De Gea made a lot of mistakes when he came to Manchester United but he has improved, as was hoped, to become an immaculate keeper. Szczesny, also 24, has had a similar amount of time to bed in to Arsenal but we haven’t seen any marked improvement in his game since he came to the club.

He’s bigger and more experienced now. But he’s still prone to mistakes.

The Telegraph has suggested that Arsenal may finally put us all out of our misery and finally attempt bring in the man they need between the sticks – Petr Cech.

The say:

Arsenal ponder summer bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech as Liverpool and Roma also target Czech shotstopper

Cech is a marvellous keeper who would be number one at most clubs in the world. It just so happens that Chelsea have another genius on the books who is 10 years younger.

Czech surely won’t stay for much longer – Courtois looks as if he will be in goal for the club for the next decade – and Arsneal would be a fabulous option for the lad as it means he doesn’t have to up sticks completely.

Let’s see Cech in action. Arsenal fans: no brainer?

Can anyone really see Mourinho letting Cech go to Arsenal?

Sorry but Mourinho will NEVER sell any useful player to Wenger, especially not since he made the blunder with Frank Lampard.

Expect Cech to go to Roma, Napoli, Real Sociedad etc.
