Not sure this one will get the pulses of the Arsenal fans racing but the club are said to be in hot pursuit of a young midfielder, having made a second bid for him this week, according to sources in the British media.

Sky Sports says:

Arsenal have had a bid rejected by Legia Warsaw for 17-year-old Krystian Bielik.

Talks are said to be ongoing however and the selling club are looking for the princely sum of £2.3m. Arsenal fans will hope that, if he does sign, he will have more unbridled success than their last purchase from Legia Warsaw – namely Wojciech Szczesny who joined from Warsaw in 2006.

Latest reports also state that Arsenal are still keen on bringing Morgan Schneidelrin to the club, with The London Evening Standard writes that:

Arsenal will continue their interest in the £25m-rated Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, although the club expects that a deal for the Frenchman would only be realistic in the summer rather than the January transfer window.

This will come as a blow to Arsenal fans who were hopeful that a top midfield anchor man would come in in the winter window, to a team that needs more solidity if it wants to challenge for honours come May.

We sense that The Frenchman wants a move sooner rather than later. But with Southampton having so much to play for – not least fourth spot in The Premier League – the idea of selling to a direct rival like Tottenham or Arsenal in January currently seems remote.

Let’s see some Schneiderlin clips while we wait for developments.
