PICTURE: A Perfect Arsenal XI with Hummels, Cavani and new midfield gem

Arsenal Dream Team

Prolific

We shall discover, over the next 12 months, just how much Arsenal want trophies. Because they have virtually all the ingredients for a top team and squad. They don’t need wholesale changes but a few really stellar signings to give them the spine to go with the shine.

The solution is obvious – buy a world class striker, a brilliant anchorman and an accomplished leader for the back line and Arsenal can clean up at home and abroad.

Of late, Arsenal have been linked with Mats Hummels, Edinson Cavani and Moussa Sissoko – these three would be perfect.

Hummels could provide the experience and solidity that Arsenal have lacked at the very top level. Per Mertesacker has been a decent buy but a team with him in is unlikely to win The Prem. Hummels is the ideal long-term replacement at 26.

While many Arsenal fans would prefer an arguably more sensible move for Morgan Schneiderlin we think that Sissoko would be the more exciting, if higher risk, alternative. He can do the anchor man role well but gets from box-to-box more than the Southampton star and could be a revelation at the club.

We don’t need to convince you of the virtues of Edinson Cavani – he’s a goal machine and a clear notch above the likes of Welbeck and Giroud.

It’s clear as day to us that Arsenal would win trophies with these additions. But can they afford them and are they prepared to pay the £100m it would surely cost to recruit them? Here’s our sublime XI with the star studded potential additions.

I would not leave out Ozil from the mumber 10 role, and would take out Wilshire. he looks good playing but check his stats with telling contributions since he started playing for arsenal. goals, assist, take on’s chances created on offence then check his stats on defence, average contributions to the cause so far. tackles won , headed duels ( do not tell me he is short) interceptions, clearance, blocks per game etc and lastly his pass completion rate is not even in the top ten of current arsenal players. so Ramsay should take Wilshire role and incert Ozil or Carzola

Any line up with reject and over rated flop wilshire is a joke.
It shows you’re a typical British teen that knows nothing about football.
Worst pass rate, worst goal record and worst assist is jack.
Not to mention dives, falls and complaints..
Hope he dies or breaks a leg permanently. Garbage jack.

Hey Troll stop with the venom at jack. You’re correct he is a crap AM. Rotate him with Rambo at CM. Jacks skillset translates well to CM, he would need to play more “under control”. His coach is to blame for the attitude. He allows it.
