Quite how the back of a head can be confirmed as Morgan Schneiderlin by the press is debatable. But if there is truth in the sighting of the lad in London on Friday then there has to be a good chance that he is making a move to Arsenal.
The big potential spanner in the works is that the brilliant French midfielder made his name under Mauricio Pochettino at Southampton. With the Argentinian now coaching Tottenham there has to be a chance that he will be persuaded to make the move to White Hart Lane instead.
But, as a neutral, you would have to say that Arsenal still represents a better career opportunity. Tottenham aren’t far behind but the simple fact that Arsenal play Champions League football each year would surely sway many a foreign footballer without specific loyalties to an English club.
He would of course be a super signing for either side and offer the sort of assurance that has been lacking from the defensive midfield of both clubs of late.
Schneiderlin is really blossoming now after an excellent run out at the World Cup after a great season for Southampton. At 25 his stock is at a career high and he has made no secret of his desire to move to Arsenal or a similarly sized club before too long.
Let’s take a look at his highlights. Arsenal fans: inevitable?
