Continuity

Ther is little point in dressing the Aston Villa game up as anything other than hugely disappointing. Manchester United’s recent performances have been workmanlike but they have taken the points. At Villa Park, the result matched the performance and a draw was all United deserved out of the game.

Manchester United were generally sluggish in their play. They didn’t move the ball forward quickly enough. They looked static and there wasn’t enough urgency in their game, particularly when Villa went down to ten men.

In truth it is the sort of game you must win if you want any chance of winning a title. It was there for the taking but Manchester United were too leisurely. With 20 minutes to go the passing seemed aimless and there was almost too much of an assumption that they would score the winner.

RvP was poor again and some might fancy seeing the pace of Wilson chosen ahead of him for the Newcastle game. But we feel that it’s all about continuity at this point. It’s time to get the big hitters in the team and gelling, now that most of them are back from injury. And that means Di Maria, Falcao, Rooney and RvP forming the basis of Manchester United’s team over the next few months. Players this good can surely form a ruthless alliance given minutes together.

The formation doesn’t really matter so much these days as Carrick can drift between defence and midfield as needed. So here is our team for the Newcastle match on Boxing day which should see a return to winning ways for Manchester United.

I’m Sick of Fellaini’s awkwardness, besides don’t believe that he is going to take on Mata’s place by now… Id reinforce the Mid, and start Herrera (65 mins) ahead of RVP, and put 3 behind Falcao whose be Rooney, Di María & Mata or Januzaj. Of course playing ahead of Herrera and Carrick… We are lacking of ideas and creativity. So f**k Fellaini for now…

Rafael should come in for valencia, then Evans should be droped to the bench and then bring Carrick to the defence and Herrera to d midfield.
