Another Injury Boost for Manchester United with crucial player

Zaha never settled at Manchester United

One of the greatest qualities of Louis van Gaal is that he keeps his head when all around him are losing theirs. After the 4-0 mauling of Manchester United by the Mk Dons in The Capital One Cup, and a 5-3 defeat at Leicester to rub it in, many United fans were freaking out – they were essentially in meltdown as they considered the ramifications of another failed management tenure.

But LvG told us all that this was all part of the process and that things would improve. The performances have still been shaky in part, but the results have most certainly improved.

LvG has to take great credit for this, particularly as he has had a ridiculous amount of injuries to deal with – another problem that he hasn’t moaned about.

So, now that most of the injured players are returning to training, we lick our lips in anticipation of top performances to go with the great results.

The latest player to give Manchester United a fitness boost is Luke Shaw who will reportedly be available for some of the festive program. The Mirror reports:

Luke Shaw to hand Manchester United festive fitness boost by returning from ankle injury

Luke Shaw is set to return for Manchester United on Boxing Day after recovering from the ankle injury that has kept him out for a month.

We think that Shaw is a joy to watch. A real Manchester United type who must also suit the style of LvG with his adventurous and attacking instincts. When this lad gets a run in the team he’ll become a nailed on starter very soon. Ashley Young has done well in his absence but his tendency to cut back in on his preferred right foot wastes time and opportunity.

Manchester United fans: Is Shaw the undoubted number 1 at left back or will Ashley Young remain first choice after recent performances?
