‘Everybody’s praising him’ says Manchester United superstar about sensation

Mata - The Enigma

The Cat

If you could play for one of the top teams in the world based on niceness alone then Juan Mata would be at Manchester United for life.

Through thick and thin at Manchester United Mata has remained humble and graceful. And his patience could be about to pay dividends with an extended run in the side after some better performances of late.

But much of the recent praise has been reserved for his team mate at club and international level – that’s David de Gea of course. After another great performance against Liverpool at the weekend Mata said of the keeper:

‘We won, among other things, thanks to the man of the match David de Gea, who has had yet another great performance,’ the United midfielder wrote on his blog.

There was a caveat. Mata reckons that De Gea is far too busy at the moment because the performance level of the team isn’t where it should be:

‘He is in top form. Everybody’s praising him and now we have to keep working so we don’t need so many saves from him in the next few games; we have to get better in that regard.’

De Gea has quite literally saved Manchester United points this season. He’s developed from an agile youngster into a commanding presence in the box, who has wonderful handling, stupendous reflexes and classy distribution with hands and feet.

Manchester United fans will be desperate to hear news of a new contract being signed by a player whose current deal expires in summer 2016.

With Real Madrid and Barcelona both potentially looking for long term replacements in between the sticks these are hazardous times for Manchester United and they will surely want to get a contract signed ads soon as possible despite reportedly being ‘relaxed‘ about the De Gea contract situation.
