Now this would be special. Arsenal have some great attacking midfielders and up top they have good quality with Welbeck, Giroud and Podolski. But none of the strikers are true A-listers. None would get close to the Real Madrid squad for example.
We are accustomed to seeing world class strikers at Arsenal and they need another if they are really going to challenge for honours. Arsenal need a true successor to the likes of Henry, Bergkamp and van Persie.
How about Edison Cavani? He looks like he’s really finding his feet after a slow start to the season. And, at 27, he could realistically aspire to the level of the aforementioned hall of fame.
Cavani has been linked to Arsenal for some time and reports have surfaced once again this week that he could be on the move. Even if he does stay at PSG beyond this winter, this surely won’t be his last club.
Cavani has one more big move in him and he’d be just the tonic for Arsenal – a truly world class striker to spearhead the attack and optimise the sublime service of the likes of Cazorla, Sanchez and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Bookmakers Bet Victor certainly seem to think his next destination will be Arsenal and they have him Katy even money (1/1) to join the club before February.
