The main difference at Manchester United between this season and last? Quite simply the current coach gives the impression of someone who knows exactly what he is doing.
And it’s becoming increasingly clear that his methods and philosophies are beginning to sink in to the players and staff.
Certainly the top brass at United are convinced that they have got the right man, according to highly regarded English media outlet The Telegraph. They say:
..senior sources have given Telegraph Sport a ringing endorsement of the effect Louis van Gaal has had throughout the club
A big personality was required after the feel-bad factor beebread by Sir Alex Ferguson’s immediate successor and Van Gaal has been the perfect fix, in terms of the way he has carried himself. The report continues:
Van Gaal is a “world-class coach” who has lifted “morale” after the traumatic campaign last season which ended in United finishing seventh and David Moyes being sacked. Sources say that Van Gaal has impressed with his “inner calm, self-belief and vision”. The Dutchman has also been hugely backed in the transfer market and United have already indicated that they will spend heavily again next summer.
Van Gaal said it would take three months to turn things around at Manchester United. But while he hasn’t used them as an excuse, injuries have played a major part in United’s season so far. Now that he has an almost full complement of players to pick from we can begin to really judge the man and his methods.
But he seems ideal for Manchester United. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, knows exactly what he wants from his player, commands respect and loves attacking, buccaneering football.
We believe that when he gets a fit squad and can being to pick a settled team , we will really see something special. Don’t completely rule out a title tilt IF Manchester United can take the next 6 points on offer.
