We have remained staunch admirers of Louis van Gaal even in Manchester United’s toughest moments this season.
Because, quite simply, the man looks like he knows what he is doing. Little can be done about the injury crisis so there is no point panicking. LvG has remained composed throughout and there is now a definite feeling that things are on the turn.
The Arsenal win may well be seen, in retrospect, as the seminal result in Manchester United’s recent history – the moment when the decline was halted and the new vintage born.
Certainly Louis van Gaal seemed as confident and bullish as ever in his weekly press conference. He seemed jocular even.
With regards injuries he said that in general ‘We have good news, yes’ and went on to indicate that Marcos Rojo and Radamel Falcao could be fit for the match day squad against Hull. Good news indeed.
With these guys back the team really does start to look strong again. We think that Falcao can be a revelation for Manchester United and Marcos Rojo was starting to settle in before the dislocation.
