Manchester United’s strongest XI vs Hull with back 4 and extra attacker

united hull

Great

For the first time in as long as we can remember Manchester United won a game that they weren’t expected to at the weekend.

They certainly didn’t do it under David Moyes and the bar was so high under Fergie that only a defeat of Barca or Real Madrid would be seen as even mildly surprising.

But there is now a real sense that Manchester United can kick on. Having spent so long hanging on to the coat tails of the top four they can cement their position over the next two fixtures against Hull and Stoke at home. 6 points is an absolute necessity over the next week.

Manchester United will once more be dictated to by injuries. But, even though left-back Luke Shaw will likely miss the Hull game, we don’t think that Louis will stick with the back 3.

Instead he will go for a more open and attacking back 4 with Ashley Young likely to be drafted in at left-back after a decent comeback against The Gunners.

Expect Smalling and Blackett to play in the centre with Valencia/Rafa right.

In the midfield Manchester United have lost Blind but gained Carrick. With Fellaini starting to find real form, he may well keep his place. We would prefer a more attacking approach however, with Carrick and Herrera in the midfield and Di Maria and Valencia either side if Rafa is fit.

Up top we eagerly await the return of Radamel Falcao. But he most likely won’t start if he is fit. So it’s either the off-form RvP or James Wilson up top with Rooney in the hole. Don’t be at all surprised if Louis goes with the youngster for this one. Here’s our team.

McNair instead of Blackett and not entirely sure Rafael will be fit either so it could be Valencia (as full back) and Januzaj….or possibly 4-3-3 with Carrick , Fellaini and Herrera (hopefully), with Di Maria, Rooney and RvP (at least until Falcao is fit

Not sure Falcao will start as he has been out so long. Anyone who has studied Wilson game knows he is ready for first team action he is lethal with great pace and did more in twenty minutes than Rvp in the rest of the game. He is going to be a top striker

I am ok with the back four but would rather opt for Rooney as main striker with Fellaini as number 10. Also i think Ander and Carrick at the midfield is ok but Mata at right wing and D’ Maria at the other wing will look so solid a team for a victory with at least 4 goals.

Please play NcNair ahead of Tyler, the guy gives me a verbal attack as soon as he is on the ball. The young lad is very hesitant and at times ‘all at sea’ and struggles with even clearing the ball!
