Crazy

Earlier in the week his father assuaged Barcelona fans by refuting any transfer claims:

“Right now I can say there’s nothing whatsoever in it.

But latest reports suggest that Lionel Messi may leave Barcelona and Spain due to his ongoing problems with the law over a tax bill.

The Guardian reports:

Lionel Messi may leave Spain over tax jail threat

Sources close to Barcelona football star say he feels he is being singled out by having to stand trial over undeclared income

Manchester United have been linked with the player in the past and Manchester United rep Ed Woodward has made a big play over the last year about how United are trying to buy the best players in the world.

The difference is that, actually, that have been doing just that after years of talking a good game. Di Maria and Falcao are world stars. And if there was even slight suggestion that the 27 year old may leave Barcelona then Manchester United would surely be in the queue for his signature.

His team mate Xavi recently said:

“I think he’d be even better in the Premier League because it is not so defensive,”

“When defending against Barcelona, they [English clubs] play on a 1 v 1 basis, defending with passion, and a lot of energy.

“But Leo would find more spaces than in La Liga.”

And it would an absolute treat if he did join The Premier League. With Di Maria left and Messi right with Falcao up top and Rooney in the hole, who could possibly beat The Reds? With that line up perhaps Manchester United wouldn’t need to invest in defenders after all.

Let’s take a look at the unbelievable footballer in action. Manchester United fans: will he ever leave Barcelona?
