In the same way that Manchester United should be able to call on Ryan Giggs to return to the fold in times of on field emergency, it would be nice to think that Arsenal could count on Thierry Henry for a few dreamy cameos in the next couple of years.
Henry’s MLS contract expires next month and Arsene Wenger has suggested that the legend could join Arsenal in a coaching capacity.
Arsene Wenger is considering offering an Arsenal coaching role to Thierry Henry who is ready to tackle the next stage of his glittering career.
‘It’s not impossible,’ said Wenger, when asked if the 37-year-old former Arsenal captain could return to coach. ‘I welcome people who have played for us to come back but not (for just) an honorary job.
At 37 Henry is no spring chicken. But like Giggs he’s a born athlete who doesn’t put on weight. Henry looks as if he’s about to cry every time he hears the word Arsenal. He loves the club and you can easily imagine him being there in some capacity over the next few years. We just hope he remembers to bring his boots. Just in case. You know.
Let’s see Henry scoring non-stop pearlers for Arsenal when he was the best striker in the world.
