Jan Vertonghen is considering a move away from Tottenham in January according to The Telegraph.
Vertonghen is said to be unhappy with a lack of first team performances having only started 6 times in The Premier League in this campaign. He is also said to be unhappy at being shunted out to the left full-back position for much of last season.
This could be a prime opportunity for Manchester United to buy a top defender in January. Recent rumours have centred upon a blockbuster United move for Mats Hummels in January. He would be a great signing but it will be a difficult one to do in January. And these two could make a superb partnership anyway.
We can’t imagine that the Manchester United manager wouldn’t be interested in the player. He’s experienced at 27, technically excellent and left-footed.
