It took some time for you Manchester United fans to get used to this guy. He’s young and, in some ways raw, but Luke Shaw now looks ready to shine. The Telgraph quotes him as saying:
“I think it’s time for people to step up,”
“The players who are not getting game time, who are frustrated on the bench, can come in for a massive game like Arsenal that everyone will want to play in.
He’s the sort of player who we really enjoy watching – a player with such natural ability that he makes the game look easy. And in the last few weeks we have begun to see how good he can be going forward as the shackles of his early nervousness and lack of match fitness wear off.
“Obviously, the fitness side was something me and Louis van Gaal talked about, but I feel really good at the moment, really fit,” said Shaw. “It was all about getting a run of games and that’s something that I’ve had. So, hopefully, I can keep getting a run of games and keep improving.
“It was a frustrating time picking up that injury, but the toughest thing was getting back into the team. Now I’ve had a run of games and I’m feeling really good. Hopefully, I can keep getting games now and show people why United have bought me.”
We think that Luke Shaw is going to be a world-class player. Better than Ashley Cole and Leighton Baines. He will take the idea of the attacking full back to another level because he’s not only a top defender but a really top attacker in his own right. Shaw could easily do a job on the wing for a top club.
For our money Manchester United did exactly thew right thing to buy Shaw. The money paid will seem like peanuts in years to come.
Let’s see the brilliant youngster in a action for his new club. Manchester United fans: can Shaw become better than Evra and Irwin?
