Many of the great football cliche’s have dusted themselves down over the last few weeks in relation to Newcastle. It’s a funny old game. A week’s a long time in football and F*** M* are a few of the ones that we have heard.
But this is exactly why we love it. It’s just so damn unpredictable.
Of course, Alan Pardew isn’t out of the woods yet. And you would imagine he’ll be doing all he can to strengthen his position come January.
Latest reports are linking Newcastle with more firepower in the shape of Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Magpies is in the market for another striker, despite Ayoze Perez’s recent good form.
Centre-forward Mitrovic’s contract expires in 2018 and could be available for around £5m.
He’s been smashing in the goals on an increasingly regular basis and, at 20 years of age, he is still learning. He’s got 23 in 47 for Anderlecht and 52 in 127 since he began his senior career. That form has lead to 8 caps for Serbia in which he’s opened his scoring account with one goal so far.
We strongly believe that Newcastle could do with at least one more centre forward and this guy could prove a bargain.
Let’s see him in action.
