It seems that the Dutchman is interesting several parties not least because his contract expires at the end of this season. So Villa may look to cash in in January in order to get some kind of fee.
He’s a really good player – a safe pair of hands who would most definitely improve the squad and perhaps take the place of the ever more sluggish Per Mertesacker when everyone is fit.
