What all Manchester United fans want to hear

Whether you love him or like him slightly less if there is one player that you would want on your team sheet for a game against your arch-rivals in a local derby it is surely Wayne Rooney.

Technically he is better than any other English footballer but he also mixes that with the brute force, the will and the desire which has inspired Manchester United to so many trophies over the last decade.

We only really get a sense of how important he is when he isn’t playing. The results and performances usually suffer. How many more points would Manchester United have gained over the last three matches with Wazza starting instead of Juan Mata?

We reckon Manchester United would at least have had the better of West Brom if Wayne Rooney had been at the top of that diamond in midfield.

Either way, the fantastic news for Manchester United fans is that the lad looks destined to play against City. He was seen taking part in full training on Wednesday after rumours that he was seen limping during a commercial sponsors event in Manchester earlier in the week.

With him in the side Manchester United have as good a chance of beating City as anyone.

And the recent result against Chelsea, twinned with the indifferent form of City means Manchester United can look forward to this one with confidence.
