Sakho, Flanagan and Sturridge are sadly still missing and none are likely to be ready for the weekend.
But Liverpool are in decent shape apart from that and will be buoyed by the performance of Mario Balotelli in The Capital One Cup.
His introduction added real quality to the Liverpool side and we all know that most strikers feed off confidence. We have backed this lad from day one and believe he is good enough to be a vital player for Liverpool if handled correctly. He will start again this weekend in the tough trip to a recently reinvigorated Newcastle side.
Whether the win at Tottenham last weekend was a fluke we shall soon discover. But, what is for sure, is that Newcastle have a good side when everyone is fit. They will cause Liverpool problems.
We would like to see some real pace in the wide areas this weekend. Pop Raheem and Coutinho in the wider areas behind the striker and let Lallana have a go through the middle. He can always move out wide if it’s not working but we feel number 10 may still be his best position.
Apart from that the side has a familiar look. Here is how we would line the boys up for the tough visit to Newcastle.
