Anyone who reads our column could be mistaken for thinking that we don’t like Arsene. It couldn’t be further from the truth.
Most managers annoy us within months of being in the media glare of The Premier League. But Mr. Wenger has failed to offend in all his years as an Arsenal manager.
He’s a top guy and he genuinely cares about his club. But the bit that really annoys us is his transfer policy.
After years of mis-spending we would sincerely prefer an Arsenal fan to have the purse strings. Because most would surely have bought in a top defensive midfielder by now.
The latest name to resurface in this ridiculous and never ending carousel of contenders is Morgan Schneiderlin. We’d be more than happy if he was the man brought in for the job.
He’s solid, intelligent and getting better all the time. He’s also scoring a few goals as he matures for The Saints and France.
The Express reports this week:
Arsenal are ready to revive their interest in Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin in January.
Arsene Wenger has money to spend and could bid £25m for the French midfielder after missing out over the summer.
Hopefully the carousel will eventually stop at Carvalho, Khedira or Schneiderlin because Arsenal need a top anchor man and Wenger clearly doesn’t realise the importance of such a player to the overall balance of the team.
Let’s see Schneiderlin in action. Arsenal fans: is this the guy to add solidity?
