This has been one that’s troubled some of the United faithful for a while and, if rumours are to be believed, Manchester United are about to avoid a massive headache.
Because, latest reports suggest that Manchester United are in accordance with the representatives of David de Gea over a new deal which will tie him to the club long term and see him earn around £120k per week.
David De Gea has snubbed interest from Real Madrid to agree terms on a new £120,000-a-week Manchester United contract.
If true it’s sensational news for Manchester United. Barcelona and Real Madrid are looking vulnerable at the back as the glorious careers of Victor Valdes and Iker Casillas come to and end. With De Gea looking to have finally taken the Spain No.1 spot it’s safe to assume that these two giants would be interested in the lad as a long term solution of the highest calibre.
That may still happen. We can definitely see him playing in Spain again and he has all the quality to succeed those great keepers. But it won’t be for some time yet if the deal does go through.
Over the last year De Gea has become one of the superstars of the Manchester United team and it would be a nightmare trying to replace him with similar quality. He’s a top keeper coming into his prime.
