As October lurches into its third week you can feel the anticipation building. After becoming one of the talking points of The World Cup, for all the wrong reasons, Luis Suarez signed for Barcelona and quietly got on with the business of keeping gift while his ban took effect.

But, after what must have seemed like an eternity, we are now just 10 days from El Classico and a likely debut for the mercurial Uruguayan.

We are certain that Suarez going to write his name into the history books at Barcelona. It’s a club which has been treated to some of the best players that the world has ever seen. But Suarez is up there with the best – he really is that good.

But, after seeing Neymar’s performance in Japan this week, some will be asking whether the club even needs him.

The brilliant Brazilian seems to be getting better all the time and hammered four gaols past the hapless Japanese on Tuesday as Brazil continued to put their World Cup heartache behind them.

We have always been in love with Neymar but were never sure he would become a prolific marksman. He always seemed to have a goal in him but had equal value as a creator for others. But the Barcelona superstar has shown his great eye for goal of late and smashed our theory to tiny pieces in the process.

His four goals showed great variety too. He broke the offside trap and rounded the keeper for his first. The second came from a similar through ball but Neymar took this early, placing it to the left of the keeper. The third arrived from his left foot as he snaffled up a parried shot from outside the area. And the fourth was a header at the back post which showed great movement.

It was a marvellous performance which you can see below. Barcelona fans: how will the side line up when Luis returns?
