With Manchester United in serious need of some extra creative options in this transfer window it is rather surprising to hear that one of their better players is being linked with a move away.
The Daily Mail reports that are big bid is in the offing for one Manchester United’s home grown players:
Danny Welbeck targeted by Hull as Man United striker faces bit-part role under new boss Louis van Gaal
We would have to say that we would be absolutely astonished if Manchester United let Welbeck go at this stage.
He hasn’t always been the most prolific player in front of goal. But anyone who saw him on pre-season will know that he is in the best form of his career.
He seems to have kicked on again since last season. His touch has definitely improved, he looks more powerful than ever and scored an excellent goal against LA Galaxy to kick the tour off.
With each passing day it seems ever more likely that Mexican striker Javier Hernandez will leave Manchester United which will further limit the club’s attacking resources.
Welbeck may not be first choice striker but, in a game which relies ever more on squad rotation, he will be one of Manchester United’s most important members and we think that Louis van Gaal rates the player highly.
He may be asked to play out wide on the odd occasion but, generally, we think the Dutchman will give Welbeck the chance to shine through the middle. And even without European commitments the player will get ample opportunity to impress this season.
Let’s see some of his highlights. Manchester United fans: do you expect to see Danny at Old Trafford for the foreseeable future?
