New target

Without knowing what’s going on in the background it’s impossible to judge Arsenal’s transfer policy beyond what you can see on the surface.

But, from the outside looking in, it does seem that Arsenal are not the most decisive club when it comes to getting deals done.

This could either represent indecision on the part of the manager or a lack of willingness to spend big by the Arsenal board.

Javier Manquillo seemed a dead cert to sign for Arsenal from Atletico Madrid until Liverpool jumped the queue and now they appear much closer to the signing.

But reports today suggest that Arsenal have moved on and could be close to signing another defender.

The Metro says:

Arsenal will open negotiations with Italian side Catania today over a deal for their talented defender Gino Peruzzi.

The Gunners are desperate to add another right-back to their squad this summer and after missing out on Javier Manquillo, Peruzzi is the new target.

The 22 yer old Argentinian is relatively inexperienced but full of promise. After leaving Velez Sarsfield in 2013 he moved to Europe with Catania where he has played just one season. But he’s performed well enough to earn 4 caps for the Argentina senior side so the omens are good with this lad.

He’s quick, tenacious and loves to get forward.

Let’s have a look at the youngster in action. Arsenal fans, are you frustrated about transfers even though you have signed Alexis Sanchez this summer?

You have to be really naive to believe that Javier Manquillo was coming our way….

Why do we always create false narratives just to sell news. Liverpool looks likely to sign Manquillo not because Arsenal “was indecisive” or because it’s Board “was indecisive”. Brute because the player felt he had a better chance of playing time at Liverpol. If anything Arsenal have a lot of reasons to be cautiou about their dealings. It appears that quite a few Premier league clubs wait until arsenal identifies a target before they piggy back on the move.

that does seem to be the case and no original ideas brenda seems particularly fond of picking wengers brain..
i dont see the need .we have jenks for the future and debushy.
if we want a third option whats wrong with serge aurier ,who we could have signed a month back and have in training now .

I am not a happy fan, because the club is not first in doing the signing business. Look at chelsea, liverpool, who did better than us last season, are doing more business than us in the market. Arsene Wenger should please sign a defensive midfielder, a centre defender if Vemerlin is going out, a right defender if Jerkinson is going on loan, let Monreal go and get us another replacement. Wenger should stop all this wait and seek game and be more determined to for those players and sign them up ontime, and try to blend them together during the pre-season games. Thanks. Gunners 4ever.

Maybe Jenks isnt going anywhere so why would Ars need another RB. Maybe TV5 isnt going anywhere so we dont need anothet CB. Diaby, Ramsey, Arteta, Wilshere, Rosicky, Flamini, and Ox can all play in the middle if needed. We are not buying midfielders. We may buy a young CB because we dont seem to develop those kind of players. If Monreal goes I doubt we even buy a LB, we just keep TV5 for cover at CB and LB.

perhaps wenger should take another holiday .he could comentate on the comonwealth games maybe .
we already have jenks and debushi in this role if we want a third why did we not sign serge aurea a month back ,and he could be training right now .
as for brenda the man doesnt have the brain capacity too find his own players so has to hijack deals .

Don’t blame Wenger, those other clubs are only claiming to do fast businesses at the expense of Arsenal. Chelsea signed Fabragas bcos Wenger rejected him, Wenger decided not to sign Costa bcos he is injury prone, Liverpool signed Loic Remy, Mac & some other players bcos Wenger refused to pay outrageous fees for average players, so let’s encourage him to do more; surely he will sign quality affordable players before the window shots.
