This one has been dragged out for Arsenal fans but probably not as badly as the Alexis Sanchez deal.
Nevertheless, Arsenal fans are desperate to hear positive information about Sami Khedira joining the club this summer.
soccersweep feels that this is an even more important signing than Sanchez in as much as Khedira could shore up the midfield and offer the discipline that Arsenal have lacked in the engine room over the last few years.
The Metro today reports that Arsenal and Real Madrid have now agreed a transfer fee for the player and personal terms are now the only obstacle to the deal being completed. They say:
Arsenal are hopeful of agreeing personal terms with Sami Khedira after Real Madrid accepted their £19.8million offer for the German World Cup winner
…and Arsenal are working hard to agree a compromise on his £150,000-a-week wage demands.
Meanwhile Marca says:
Agreement with Arsenal for Khedira
THE GUNNERS STILL TO MATCH PLAYER’S DEMANDS
With Chelsea reportedly keen as well Arsenal will want to get this deal done as soon as possible because we all know how quickly the Stamford Bridge club can move in the transfer market.
With three German internationals already Arsenal you’d imagine Khedira will be happy to move to North London and would easily bed in at the club.
It may be a further attraction to Khedira that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is of course fluent in German.
We hope to be able to give Arsenal fans some really positive news on this one in the next day or so and we do feel that there will be a conclusion, either way, to this one imminently.
Let’s see some more highlights. Arsenal fans: should this be the priority signing now?
