Manchester United: Louis van Gaal could sign 6 Dutch players

Dutch madness

The Telegraph recently published an excellent article about how things might change under Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.

The suggestion was that he will bring a lot of Dutch player to the club as he did when he was at Barcelona. The Telegraph reported:

When he was manager at Barcelona he recruited a dozen of those who had played under him at Ajax, including Frank De Boer and Patrick Kluivert.

And looking at the performances of the Holland squad in Brazil so far Manchester United fans won’t be disappointed if LvG does recruit several players from his national team.

We actually think he could sign 6 Dutch stars for Manchester United over the summer.

Georginio Wijnaldum – A lesser-known player in the Dutch national squad he came on as a substitute against Australia and looks absolutely mustard. A really explosive winger with super ball control and a trick or three in the locker. It is probably only his inexperience that is keeping the PSV man out of the Holland team right now.

Kevin Strootman – Box To box midfielder who Manchester United could desperately use. When the player recovers from injury we think that he’ll be on his way to Manchester United.

Arjen Robben – Despite Robin van Persie’s is brilliant performances at The World Cup we still think that Robben is the jewel in the Dutch crown. At the age of 30 he seems to have got quicker over the last couple of years and put his injury problems behind him. What a player he could be at Manchester United, playing alongside Robin van Persie, with Wayne Rooney just behind them in the Wesley Sneijder role.

Bruno Martins Indi – Manchester United need defensive reinforcements and we think that this one is nailed on to happen. Martins Indi is solid as a rock and pacey to boot.

Daley Blind – What is super left foot this guy has he’s put the ball on a plate for several Dutch goals already and Manchester United could really use his precision from out wide.

Jordi Clasie – Hasn’t made an impression at The World Cup but he looks like a really exciting midfielder who could become the creative hub of Manchester United midfield in years to come.

Manchester United fans – who would you most like to see at the club from the Holland side this summer?

Strootman is complete midfielder! He’d solid defensively & very good going forward. I’d rather see Utd for Depay over Robben. The lad is a special talent. Electric pace, trickery & with a deadly shot from distance. He’s what Utd need on the wings. An alternative to Depay would be Quincy Promes from Twente. Also a highly promsing winger. In midfield Clasie would be an ideal signing. He has superb vision, creativity & a passing range. An alternative to Clasie would be Tonny Vilhena also of PSV. Vilhena is a class act. This lad is destined for the very top. Adam maher is also worth keeping an eye on. In defense Martins Indi or Veltman would be solid young acquisitions. Blind is the perfect left back with maybe Willems or Kongolo providing decent alternatives. The dutch are blessed with a plethora of talent. Utd would do well to sign some of theses youngstars. All would be exciting additions.
