Arsenal have reportedly made Ezequiel Lavezzi one of their transfer targets. The Metro reports that Arsene Wenger is keen to bring in extra strikers to help them push for The Premier League title next season.

The same source believes that the Argentinian, who currently plays for Paris Saint-Germainand is known as El Pocho (The Chubby One), could be brought to The Emirates for as little as £15 million.

The Arsenal manager could have a chance to see the player in action himself in the coming days. Lavezzi is part of Argentina’s squad for The World Cup and Wenger is in Brazil working as a pundit, giving him an opportunity to see the player for himself.

The Gunners have also been linked with a number of other strikers in a season where they have the ability to spend big thanks to a new sponsorship deal with Puma and a large transfer kitty than has built up over the past few seasons.

Speculation continues to mount over the possible return of former front man Carlos Vela. The Mexican, who currently plays for Real Sociedad, has a reported £3.5 million buyback clause allowing Arsene Wenger to get him on the cheap.

That the North London club are looking at a number of striking options should come as no surprise. Olivier Giroud faded towards the end of the season thanks to Wenger’s reliance on him as his only established front man and the manager must ideally want to bring in another striker to help ease the pressure on the Frenchman.

Lavezzi is a highly intelligent but unconventional forward who can play in several positions and offers goal threat as well as serious creativity. He’s a super player. Let’s see him in action.
