Manchester United: First major deal nearing completion says broadsheet

United closing in

It is safe to say that there is quite a bit of uncertainty surrounding Manchester United right now – not least in terms of transfers.

With Manchester United’s new manager away at The World Cup it seems that big transfer decisions may have been put on hold as speculation and transfer activity is at very low ebb right now at Old Trafford.

If Manchester United can get one deal done before the World Cup then it looks most likely that it will be for Luke Shaw.

His impressive performance during warm-up games for England further reinforces the idea that this will be a very low-risk and high-yield signing.

And after reportedly opening negotiations again last week with Southampton The Independent reported over the weekend that the deal is nearing completion:

…further funds will be spent with the club nearing competition in their pursuit of Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.

The Independent followed this up by stating that the player has told his club that he wants to join Manchester United.

soccersweep has always maintained that, if no other business is done by Manchester United this summer they simply have to sign this guy. Shaw can be one of the main catalysts of Manchester United’s resurgence in the coming years.

Everyone knows a what good player he is so Manchester United need to move decisively before other suitors join the market for the player.

Leighton Baines of Everton has all also had a fantastic season but we would start Shaw against Italy every day of the week. He’s got pace to burn and is young enough not to wilt under the heat or pressure of a World Cup in Brazil.

Manchester United need to get this one in the bag ASAP.
