West Ham

West Ham Premier League favourites with bookie to sign a true legend

Legend. Absolute Legend

What a move this would be! After a decade of superb service at Manchester United Rio Ferdinand has won the lot.

And for our money he is the best centre back to ever play for the Old Trafford outfit. He was as strong as any other central defender and could handle the toughest opponents.

But it was his ball control and first touch that really brought the fans to their feet.
Manchester United fans lost count of how many times Ferdinand put an opposition attacker on his bottom after a brilliant swivel and turn out of the area when under pressure with the ball.

He really is a world-class player. soccersweep thinks that Manchester United got rid of him too early but their loss could be West Ham’s game.

We originally thought that Rio would fancy a move to America at this stage of his career. But having been dumped by his club he may wish to prove some of the doubters wrong by staying in The Premier League.

And West Ham would surely provide an attractive option for an old Hammers legend.

Rio must be tempted by a swansong at the club where he made his name before moving to Leeds in November 2000 for £18m.

So it won’t surprise everyone to see that bookmakers SkyBet have West Ham as favourites to sign the player before the end of this transfer window, if he does stay in The Premier League, at odds of 4/1. QPR are also in the running but any move to West London would surely depend on QPR getting back into the top flight.

Let’s see some of Rio’s countless highlights. West Ham fans would this represent a superb summer signing or do you feel that Rio is past it?

Since when has Peckham (where Rio was born & bread) been in the East End?
