Big player

We have said it countless times already but we will keep saying it until Arsenal do something about the spine of their team.

Last week we were talking up the idea of Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas coming to The Emirates.

He would provide the sort of mettle and presence required in goal.

As for the midfield reports today suggest that Arsenal may be monitoring long-term Manchester United target Toni Kroos.

The German magazine Kicker has reported that Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona are currently prowling around the starting blocks trying to intimidate Manchester United ahead of the summer race to sign the Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos.

Arsene Wenger clearly has a penchant for attacking midfielders but this guy is more of a box to box type. He can play as an attacking midfielder and has a wonderful shot on him – as Arsenal have discovered to their cost.

But against Manchester United last week he played as the anchorman in the midfield and did a wonderful job to keep the ball moving and shield his defence.

He really is a quality player and one that would certainly add substance to Arsenal’s flair.

Now that the Arsenal stadium rebuild is water under the bridge Arsene surely has money to compete with the best.

This guy is one of the best and Arsenal should certainly be competing for him.

Let’s see him in action. Arsenal fans- would this guy be a necessity or a luxury?
